BAFA® laid scrims help things take off lightly: they are found in many aircraft seats. In production, diagonal laid scrims make it possible to process high-performance fibres such as carbon into uniform sheets and to minimise air voids in unidirectional prepregs.
BAFA® laid scrims are generally ideal for lightweight construction. Weighing approx. 3 g/m² (approx. 0.09 oz/yd²), they stabilise unidirectional (UD) carbon or glass fibre fabrics to the point where these can be used in wind turbine rotor blades.
